Refunds & Returns Policy

We understand that receiving your garment on time is important, especially when renting for a special event. Please read our refund and cancellation policy carefully before placing your booking.

Sizing & Fit

We do not offer refunds, exchanges, or store credit if a garment does not fit as desired. We strongly recommend reviewing our size guides, recommended sizing information, and product descriptions before booking. If you require further sizing advice, please contact us via email or Instagram before placing your order.

Shipping & Delivery

We use NZ Post's commercial overnight courier service for all orders. While the majority of parcels arrive the next business day after dispatch, overnight delivery is not guaranteed by NZ Post and is therefore not guaranteed by The Dress Hire Society.

If your rental does not arrive in time for your event due to courier delays, refunds will not be issued. Store credit may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Booking Cancellations

Orders cancelled within 6 hours of purchase may receive a refund, provided the garment has not been dispatched or prepared for collection. A $3 administration fee will be deducted from the refund to cover non-refundable payment processing fees.

If a booking is cancelled more than 6 hours after purchase but at least 3 days before the rental start date, store credit will be issued.

No refunds or store credit will be provided for cancellations made within 3 days of the rental date, or if the garment has already been dispatched or collected.

Damaged or Incorrect Items

If your garment arrives damaged, and the damage was not disclosed within the product description, you must notify us within 8 hours of receiving or collecting the garment.

Photo evidence must be emailed to us within this timeframe. The garment must remain unworn and be returned the next business day before any refund or compensation is considered.

Approved refunds will be issued back to the original payment method used for the booking.

Condition Concerns

If you have any concerns regarding the condition of your rental, you must contact us within 8 hours of receiving the garment.

Compensation, store credit, or refunds will not be considered if concerns are raised after the garment has been worn.

By placing a booking with The Dress Hire Society, you acknowledge and agree to the above refund, cancellation, and delivery policies.

 

We are unable to provide refunds, exchanges, or store credit if a garment arrives and does not fit as expected, or if you simply do not like the fit or style once received.

To help you choose the correct size, we provide detailed sizing information, recommended sizing guidance, and fit details on each product page. We also recommend viewing our TikTok videos for real-life fit references.
