Postage & Delivery
Rentals are dispatched approximately 2–5 days before your event via NZ Post Overnight Courier.
While we take every care to ensure your rental arrives on time, overnight delivery is not guaranteed by NZ Post. Once a parcel has been dispatched, delivery timeframes are subject to NZ Post's network and are outside of The Dress Hire Society's control.
Rural Deliveries
Additional charges apply for rural deliveries. Rural parcels typically take 1–2 additional business days to arrive.
We strongly recommend using a non-rural address where possible, as rural delivery delays are more common. Orders will not be dispatched earlier due to a rural address being selected.
Delivery Delays
If your rental is delayed by NZ Post and arrives after your event date, store credit (excluding postage costs) or a date exchange may be offered at our discretion.
To be eligible, the rental must be returned within 2 days of receiving it.
Late bookings are not eligible for store credit due to postal delays. A late booking is defined as:

An order placed with only one business day between the booking date and the event date; or
-
An order placed after 1pm on Wednesday for a weekend event.
Address Accuracy
It is the customer's responsibility to provide the correct shipping address and select the appropriate shipping option at checkout.
Refunds, store credit, or compensation will not be provided where delays occur due to incorrect information supplied by the customer.
If a rental is lost, delayed, or returned to sender due to incorrect shipping information provided by the customer, the customer may be liable for any associated costs, including the full replacement value of the garment where applicable.
Delivery Responsibility
If you require your rental before your event date because you are travelling or leaving your residential address early, you must notify us prior to dispatch.
If your rental arrives before your event but after you have left your address and you did not advise us of this in advance, no refund or store credit will be provided.
Once a parcel has been marked as delivered by NZ Post, The Dress Hire Society is not responsible for theft, loss, or damage occurring after delivery.
Return Postage
All rentals must be lodged at an NZ Post counter before 12pm on the next business day following your event.
Please do not place returns in a drop box, as this may delay scanning and transit times.
If the return satchel is lost, you must contact us immediately. An alternative return method may be arranged, however any additional postage costs will be the responsibility of the renter.
Tracking details must be provided for all alternative return arrangements.
Pickup Orders
Customers who select local pickup may collect their rental from the address provided in their confirmation email.
Pickup orders must be returned by 8pm on the next business day following the event unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Late Return Fees
A late fee of $20 per garment, per day, will apply to all rentals that are not returned by the required deadline.
Additional charges may apply where late returns affect future bookings.
